What happened this week? w/c 29th April 2019

17th January 2020

Hamster Room

The Hamster’s have been busy in the garden this week planting their sunflower seeds, and making sure the seeds have everything they will need to grow; lots of soil, lots of water, and now the seeds are at home with you, we hope they’re getting lots of light too! We can not wait to hear how your seeds are getting on, and how tall the sunflowers are growing – don’t forget to keep us posted!

We’ve also been busy doing lots of jigsaws – its been fantastic to observe the children’s resilience and determination as they work out where each piece needs to go in order to complete their puzzle. We’ve been having fun in the princess castle role play area too and we’ve been practising our counting in the ‘once I caught a fish alive’ fishing tuff spot. The Hamster’s have also really enjoyed looking through and reading some old magazines, particularly the ones about nature and animals – following this interest we’ll be making sure there are lots of animal themed activities next week!

Thank you for your understanding and patience with all the room changes this week! We hope you all have a fantastic bank holiday weekend!

Haffertee Room

We have had a busy couple of weeks settling back into pre school after the Easter holidays. With the warmer weather we have been enjoying the outdoors. Planting vegetable seeds in our veggie patch, mark making with water and brushes and using our senses to investigate the garden.

The children had a wonderful time at Kingfisher barn this week. They were excited to discover what creatures could be found in the pond and took turns pond dipping with their nets. We found tadpoles, water snails and water fleas!

All the children were amazing and listened to the safety instructions and stayed safe. We were on our feet for most of the day, with lots of walking, so we hope your children slept well after the trip…. I know the teachers did! 🙂
