Meet our Pre-School Committee: Parent representatives (Parent Reps) are a group of parents representing parent views, working in partnership with our children, staff, the manager and our committee to achieve the best for Barbara Rose Pre-School. The parent representatives group is made up of parents from either the Hamster or the Haffertee rooms, and meets on a termly basis. Nominations to be a parent rep are requested in September. It is not a requirement for people to become involved in all of the activities run throughout the year.
We are always looking for additional volunteers to help at various events. If you have any time or talents you can offer, please make contact with us; either via email or a note to Abby (Manager).
Time is increasingly precious for people and if time commitments are an issue, there are other ways in which you can contribute. Do you have business contacts who might like to make raffle prize donations (anytime in the year!), or equipment for the Pre-school?
The role of the parent reps is to support and promote the Pre-school in its work with children, represent the views of all parents and encourage links between the Pre-School, parents, children, and the wider community.
The aims of the parent representative group are to:
- work in partnership with the Pre-school to create a welcoming environment which is inclusive for all parents and carers.
- promote partnership between the Pre-school, its children, and all its parents and carers
- develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare of the children
- identify and represent the views of parents and carers on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the education and welfare of the children
Following each meeting the parent reps draft a newsletter which is placed on our website. These newsletters are used to celebrate achievement, pass on information from meetings and request feedback and ideas from parents
